Three fibers in one powder for a steadier gut and metabolism
Momentous Fiber+ combines psyllium husk (soluble), rice bran (insoluble), and Solnul® resistant potato starch in a single 6g serving. Mixes into liquid or meals; customers report better regularity within 12–48 hours and more stable energy. Lab-tested, NSF-certified, vegan.
Observational studies and some small RCTs show associations between resistant starch intake and improved insulin sensitivity, lipid profiles, and colonic butyrate production. However, human trial evidence remains limited and inconsistent; most studies are short-term, underpowered, or conducted in specific populations (e.g., overweight adults). Fiber blends are heterogeneous, so efficacy depends heavily on composition and dose.
Mechanism
Resistant starch (RS) is a type of carbohydrate that resists digestion in the small intestine and reaches the colon, where it acts as a prebiotic substrate for beneficial bacteria. This fermentation produces short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), particularly butyrate, which may improve insulin sensitivity, reduce inflammation, and support colonic health.

“Resistant starch (RS) is starch and products of its small intestinal digestion that enter the large bowel.”
Caveats
Most human RCTs are small (N < 100) and short-duration (< 12 weeks). Some trials show no benefit on glucose control or weight loss. Individual responses to resistant starch vary widely based on baseline microbiota composition. Long-term safety and optimal dosing in general populations remain unclear. Blended formulations may contain additives or ratios not tested in the literature.
