No randomized controlled trials of infrared sauna blankets exist. Most evidence comes from traditional sauna cohorts (saunas at 80–100°C), which differ in temperature profile, duration, and user adherence from blanket use. Blanket studies are typically small, uncontrolled, or industry-sponsored. Long-term safety and optimal dosing for blankets are unknown. Contraindications (pregnancy, certain medications, cardiovascular instability) are not well-characterized in blanket populations.
