The bedside table audit

A bedside table is the most overworked surface in your home. It decides how you fall asleep and how you wake up. And most of them are a mess.

Three rules:

1. One book maximum. The stack of seven you're "going to read" is a guilt trip in disguise. 2. Nothing that glows. Phone goes face-down or in another room. A small analog clock is fine. 3. A glass of water you actually want to drink. Filled before bed, not during the 3am wake-up.
